The 2026 edition of Women’s Asia Cup is slated to be held in the United Arab Emirates, although a formal confirmation from the Asian Cricket Council is still pending, Cricinfo reported.
The tournament is likely to get underway on August 28 and will run till September 13. Eight countries are set to compete, including defending champions Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Malaysia, Thailand, and the host nation UAE
According to the report, the ACC has already informed the participating nations to mark the aforementioned dates for the continental event.
As per the report, the council is yet to unveil the schedule, dates and venue as it awaits final approval from its leadership, headed by Pakistan Cricket Board chief Mohsin Naqvi.
The report further claimed the ACC informed participating teams in an email on July 22 that the venue was ‘currently being finalised’, while indicating that teams were expected to arrive on August 27 and the final was scheduled for September 13.
The report added that participating countries are stuck waiting for the finalized, official match schedule. Teams cannot complete their flights, accommodation, and training arrangements until the venue and dates are locked in.
Highlighting the lack of formal declaration, the BCCI on Sunday (August 2) briefly posted India's squad online before quickly taking it down because the ACC had not officially announced the itinerary.
Furthermore, the conclusion of this tournament creates a tight turnaround for the players. The women’s cricket event at the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, is scheduled to run from September 17 to 24. This gives the two Asia Cup finalists a mere four days to travel from the UAE to Japan and acclimatize before their next major continental competition.
