Details about distribution of BCCI's Rs 125 crore prize money for T20 World Cup-winning Indian team revealed

Team India were unbeaten during their triumphant T20 World Cup 2024 campaign.

Team India clinched the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy without losing a single game in the competition, which was held in the West Indies and USA last month.

It was a big achievement for the Men in Blue as they produced some brilliant performances to break their 11-year-long ICC trophy drought.

Subsequently, the BCCI announced a staggering cash reward of Rs 125 crore for the triumphant Indian cricket team.

Meanwhile, a report has revealed the details about how the prize money will be distributed among the Indian cricketers, coaches, support staff, and members of the senior selection committee.

The major portion of the reward will be shared among the players and head coach Rahul Dravid. According to a report in The Indian Express, the 15 players of the main squad including the ones who did not play a single match and Dravid will be awarded Rs 5 crore each.

The three players from the main squad who did not play a single match were Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson and Yuzvendra Chahal.

Other members of the coaching staff - Vikram Rathour (batting coach), Paras Mhambrey (bowling coach) and T Dilip (fielding coach) will be given Rs 2.5 crore each. The Ajit Agarkar-led five-member senior selection committee will receive Rs 1 crore each.

Team India’s four reserve players namely Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Avesh Khan, and Khaleel Ahmed will be awarded Rs 1 crore each.

The Indian cricket team’s three physiotherapists (Kamlesh Jain, Yogesh Parmar and Thulasi Ram Yuvraj), three throwdown specialists (Raghavindraa Dvgi, Nuwan Udeneke and Dayanand Garani), two masseurs (Rajeev Kumar and Arun Kanade), and the strength and conditioning coach (Soham Desai) will be awarded Rs 2 crore each.

“Players and support staff have been informed about the amount of prize money they will be receiving from the BCCI and we have asked everyone to submit an invoice,” a BCCI source told the newspaper.

The report added that the Indian contingent for the T20 World Cup 2024 campaign included 42 people. Besides players, coaches, support staff and selectors, the video analyst, BCCI staff members, media officers, and logistics manager will also be rewarded.
