India skipper Rohit Sharma, all-rounder Hardik Pandya and middle-order star Suryakumar Yadav were honoured by billionaire industrialist Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita Ambani for the T20 World Cup 2024 victory during Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's Sangeet ceremony in Mumbai on Friday (July 6).
Rohit, Hardik and Suryakumar were among the celebrities in attendance at the grand sangeet ceremony of Anant and Radhika.
The troika played a significant role in India’s second T20 World Cup title win. The Men in Blue defeated South Africa by seven runs in the title clash to lift the coveted trophy in Barbados on June 29.
Once the Men in Blue touched down the homeland, they received a rousing reception, especially in Mumbai, where an open-bus parade was organized by the BCCI for the T20 World Cup champions.
A day after the victory parade, Rohit, Hardik and Suryakumar, who play for Mumbai Indians in the IPL, were honoured by the Ambani family in front of other high-profile guests at the Sangeet ceremony.
In a video doing rounds on social media, Ambani family was seen hugging and congratulating the trio for their T20 World Cup triumph.

Looking back at the T20 World Cup final, Team India had posted a stiff total of 176/7 on the board after opting to bat first, courtesy of good knocks from Virat Kohli (76 off 59), Akshar Patel (47 off 31) and Shivam Dube (27 off 16).
In response, South Africa were cruising when Heinrich Klaasen (52 off 27) was at the crease. After Klaasen’s wicket, however, they lost the plot as the Indian pace trio of Jasprit Bumrah (2-18), Hardik Pandya (3-20) and Arshdeep Singh (2-20) pulled things back in the last five overs to restrict the Proteas to 169/8 in 20 overs.
The seven-run victory in the final marked the end of India’s 11-year-old ICC trophy drought.
