Mohammed Siraj was the center of an interesting bit of play involving Mohammad Rizwan during the India v Pakistan T20 World Cup 2024 match on June 9 in the USA.

India continued their unblemished record in the 2017 T20 World Cup, defeating arch-rivals Pakistan by six runs in New York on Sunday. Pakistan crumbled to 113/7 in 20 overs while chasing 120. Pakistan remained winless in this tournament, having fallen to co-hosts the United States in their opening.

Jasprit Bumrah's 3/14 proved to be the difference in the game, as the pacer claimed critical wickets of Mohammad Rizwan (31), Babar Azam (13) and Iftikhar Ahmed (5). Meanwhile, all-rounder Hardik Pandya scalped two wickets.

Given the rivalry between the two teams, the match was not without its drama. In the second innings, Mohammed Siraj and Mohammad Rizwan also had a memorable occasion.

After the wicketkeeper-batsman returned a full delivery to the bowler, Siraj gathered it on the follow-through and attempted a direct. However, his aim was poor, and he struck Rizwan's hand instead, which was deflected to the fine leg.

Rizwan was in pain, so he got up and ran a few paces to relieve it, followed by Siraj apologizing to him. In addition, the couple hugged each other to express their understanding.

However, supporters on X, formerly known as Twitter, reacted differently to the situation. Instead of acknowledging their friendship, fans began to troll ‘drama queen’ Rizwan and thanked Siraj.
