ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 Team Of The Tournament announced; Richa Ghosh lone Indian to make the cut

World Champions Australia had the most-4 players in the Team of the Tournament of T20 WC 2023.

India keeper-batter Richa Ghosh was the lone Indian cricketer to make it into the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 Team Of The Tournament which was announced on February 27, Monday by the ICC.

Australia won their sixth T20 World Cup title and third in a row as they defeated hosts South Africa in the final at Cape Town on Sunday, by 19 runs. Ashleigh Gardner won the Player of the Tournament and Beth Mooney got the Player of the Final award for her half-century.

Four Australians made it into the final XI, and three South Africans were also included with England, India, and West Indies also represented in the final team. One Irish star was picked as the 12th player.

The four Australians to make it into the XI was Alyssa Healy who scored 186 runs and made four dismissals. Player of the Tournament Ash Gardner with 110 runs and 10 wickets, Darcie Brown with 7 wickets, and Megan Schutt with 10 wickets were the other world champions in the XI.

South Africa had Tazmin Brits (186 runs), the top-scorer of the tournament Laura Wolvaardt (230 runs), and the highest wicket-taker in T20 World Cup history, Shabnim Ismail (8 wickets).

India’s Richa Ghosh was named as a batter as she scored 136 runs and made 7 dismissals, and West Indies spinner Karishma Ramharack (5 wickets) was the sole representative of their countries.

England had Nat Sciver-Brunt, who was named captain of this team as well, as she scored 216 runs, and spinner Sophie Ecclestone, who took 11 wickets.

Orla Prendergast of Ireland was the 12th player as she made 109 runs and picked 3 wickets.
