After the humiliating exit from the T20 World Cup, India skipper Rohit Sharma was nearly reduced to tears in the team dugout.
Now, a report published in The Indian Express claims that could not contain his emotions later in the dressing room as well and some of his teammates had to calm him.
In fact, some team members confirmed to the newspaper that they had never seen Rohit so upset after many defeats in the past.
As things settled a bit, India head coach Rahul Dravid addressed the team and that was followed by Rohit’s speech in the dressing room.
According to the report, Dravid said that the team played some good cricket in the marquee event and everyone was proud with the amount of hard work put in.
Rohit also echoed with Dravid’s sentiment that the team played some good cricket in the last three weeks while also thanking everyone for their contributions.
India will now tour New Zealand for a white-ball series, comprising three T20Is and as many ODIs. Both the squads don’t feature senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.
Hardik Pandya will captain the T20I team while Shikhar Dhawan will lead the ODI side on the New Zealand tour.
