New Zealand captain Kane Williamson is considered to be one of the nicest persons on a cricket field, but against England in a tough T20 World Cup 2022 match, the nice guy also experienced a faux pas moment.

England had batted first in what was a must-win game for them in Brisbane and scored 179/6 with captain Jos Buttler top-scoring with 73 and Alex Hales contributing a half-century. Buttler was on fire as he faced just 47 balls and hit 2 sixes and 7 fours in his knock, adding 81 runs for the opening wicket with Hales (52).

During his knock, in the 6th over, Mitchell Santner got one ball to hold and bounce as Buttler only managed to hit it in the air towards the mid-off position where Kane Williamson had to run a few steps back and dived to take a brilliant catch.

He also gestured to the umpires that the catch was clean and Buttler was out and the batter began to walk back. But the on-field umpires decided to refer the catch to the TV umpire and the replays showed that the ball was not in control of Williamson as he landed on the floor and had touched the ground before the Kiwi captain picked it back and brought it in his control.

Buttler had taken Williamson's word and had almost walked off, but New Zealand didn't know that the ball had touched and the New Zealand captain apologized to Buttler.
