Netherlands captain Scott Edwards said that he is hoping that India’s Virat Kohli doesn’t do an encore of his "surreal show against Pakistan" when the two sides meet in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on October 27.

India defeated Pakistan in their tournament opener on Sunday in what is called an all-time classic T20 match between the two sides. Virat Kohli starred as India chased down the 160-run target with 48 runs needed in the last 18 balls and Kohli single-handedly scored the majority of runs.

"What Virat (Kohli) did the other day was surreal. Hope he doesn't repeat it against us," Edwards said at the pre-match media conference on Wednesday.

The Netherlands will be playing their second match of the Super 12s, after losing a close encounter to Bangladesh in Hobart. Edwards, a Melbourne local who has migrated to The Netherlands, doesn't have any undue expectations from his side but would like his teammates to play the best brand of cricket possible.

"Not many people expect us to win, so not too much pressure on us. Our brand of cricket means perform to best of our ability. Just bring our A game. If it's enough it's enough. If it's not it's not. Huge. You always dream of playing World Cup and against arguably one of best teams in the world is surreal," said Edwards.
