India will open their T20 World Cup 2022 campaign on October 23.
On the eve of the marquee event, ICC organised a Captains' Day, where the skippers of all 16 participating teams engaged with the media.
Rohit Sharma, who took charge as India's T20I skipper last year, attended his maiden T20 World Cup presser as the captain of the national team.
After the media interaction, Rohit was spotted boarding a cab. Taking to Twitter, an Australian sports journalist posted a video of Sharma boarding the cab along with a member of India's support staff.
The Indian contingent on Saturday (October 15) reached Brisbane, where they will play a couple of World Cup warm-up games against New Zealand and Australia.
The Men in Blue are due to open their T20 World Cup 2022 campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 23.
Even though India’s opening fixture is still a week away, skipper Rohit Sharma said in the presser that the playing XI for the marquee clash has been decided.
"I don't believe in last-minute decisions. We want to keep our boys informed about team selection before so that they can prepare early. I already have my XI for the Pakistan match. Already those players are informed. I don't believe in a last-minute thing. I want them to prepare well. We understand the importance of India vs Pakistan match but there is no point in talking every time, even when we met during Asia Cup, we keep talking about the families, which cars do you have," Rohit stated.
Team India are part of Group 2 in the Super 12 stage alongside Pakistan, South Africa, and Bangladesh while two teams will join them from the qualifiers.
