Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2021 campaign came to an end on Thursday (November 11) as they suffered a heartbreaking five-wicket defeat at the hands of Australia in the second semi-final at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

After their defeat, all the focus shifted to pacer Hassan Ali, who dropped Matthew Wade's catch in the 19th over of the match. Subsequently, Wade smashed three consecutive sixes off Shaheen Afridi to take Australia over the line while chasing the target of 177 with an over left.

Hassan, who also conceded 44 runs without any success in his four overs, was subjected to online abuse and trolling as the result didn’t go in Pakistan’s favour.

Amid the backlash, Hassan Ali on Saturday (November 13) took to Twitter and wrote that he is more disappointed with his performance than the Pakistani fans and also promised to bounce back stronger.

“I know you all are upset because my performance didn’t meet your expectations from me but not more disappointed than me. Don’t change your expectations from me. I want to serve Pakistan cricket at the highest level possible, so back to hard work. This patch will make me stronger so Alhumdulilah,” he stated in a note shared on the micro-blogging site.

“Thank you for all the messages, tweets, posts, calls, and Duas – needed them,” he added.

Hassan Ali played 6 matches in the T20 World Cup 2021 for Pakistan, returning with 5 wickets at an average of 41.40 and an economy rate of 9 while his best figures were 2/44 against India.
