T20 World Cup 2021: Cricket fraternity lauds Rizwan, Fakhar fifties as Pakistan posts 176/4 v Australia in 2nd semi-final

The second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2021 saw Pakistan taking on Australia in Dubai on November 11, 2021. Pakistan came into this match unbeaten in the league stage, while Australia was looking to make it into their maiden final in the 20-over world event.

Aaron Finch of Australia won the toss and chose to bowl first. The opening combination of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan came to the party once more, adding 71 runs in 10 overs, when Babar fell to Zampa for 39 in 34 balls with 5 fours.

Rizwan continued pummeling the Aussie bowlers as he made 67 in 52 balls with 4 sixes and 3 fours to his name. Josh Hazlewood went for 49 runs in his 4 overs, while Adam Zampa was the pick of the bowlers with 1/22 in 4 overs. Cummins and Starc were the other wicket-takers for the Kangaroos.

During his knock, Rizwan became the 1st batter to score 1000 plus runs in T20Is in one calendar year.

Fakhar Zaman smacked some huge sixes as he finished on 55* in 32 balls with 4 sixes and 3 fours to his name, including two huge smacks that landed in the second tier of the stands in the last over bowled by Starc.

Pakistan put up a formidable 176/4 in 20 overs against a potent Australia bowling attack.
