Rahul Dravid to take up the head coach position from November 17.
India will play three T20Is and two Tests against Kane Williamson and co and will have new support staff in the backroom. The tenures of Ravi Shastri as head coach, bowling coach B Arun, and fielding coach R Sridhar ended with the T20 World Cup 2021, where India failed to qualify for the semis.
Cricbuzz has now reported that Vikram Rathour is expected to continue as the batting coach of the Indian team and will be joined by former India and Mumbai bowler Paras Mhambrey as the bowling coach. T Dilip is expected to assume the mantle of the new fielding coach.
All will work under head coach Rahul Dravid, who was instrumental in having the three appointed to his support staff. Mhambrey has worked extensively with Dravid in the NCA and in the India U19 and India A setups.
The interviews for the three are understood to have taken place on Thursday. As per the Supreme Court-approved constitution, the selectors will have to pick the coaches and the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) will have to choose the head coach, but the process for these appointments is yet to be ascertained.
