Pakistan lost to England by 2 wickets in Super 8s in Pallekele Stadium.
Experts and former greats of the game questioned Agha's captaincy choices after Pakistan lost their Group A match against India in Colombo on February 15 by 61 runs. On Tuesday, after England defeated Pakistan in a Super 8s match, Agha came under fire for his tactics once more.
While speaking on the Pakistani show Haarna Mana Hai after Pakistan suffered a defeat in their second Super 8s match, Amir said, “I think Salman Ali Agha will not remain the captain of T20 after this World Cup."
When asked who should take Agha's place as captain, Amir responded that, at the moment, he doesn't believe anyone should be Pakistan's T20I captain.
“Meri najar mei abhi to koi bhi deserve nahi karta (In my opinion, no one deserves it right now). If I look at it now," he said.

Agha's captaincy was also criticized by Shoaib Akhtar, who said that he is not a suitable captain. Akhtar claims that Agha was compelled to fill the position as a "makeshift" solution following Pakistan's split from Mohammad Rizwan.
“The question I need to ask in three weeks’ time is whether Agha will remain team captain. If you (the Pakistan Cricket Board and think tank) had any long-term vision, you wouldn’t have to make this decision three weeks from now. I don’t think he is cut out for this job as a captain. And if you are expecting a miracle from him or comparing him to someone like Harry Brook—I am so sorry," Akhtar said on the Game On Hai show.
“Looking at him tactically, he is not captaincy material. He was forced into the role as a ‘makeshift’ arrangement, and now the reality is right in front of you. How many more mistakes will he make?" he added.
Pakistan will face Sri Lanka in their final Super 8s game in Pallekele on February 28.
