Rohit was picked in the playing XI ahead of Ajinkya Rahane.
Rohit Sharma has failed to make any impact in on-going India vs South Africa Test series.
The middle-order batsman was picked on the basis of his current form against the Sri Lankan series at home. However, he failed to continue the same scoring rate and hence faces the wrath of social media.
Rohit Sharma became a laughing stock on Twitter as he was picked over India's best overseas Test batsman Ajinkya Rahane. The 30-year-old has scores of 11, 10 and 10 in the three innings till now.
Rohit walked in to bat in both the games when India needed his contribution desperately. But Rohit was found short of the technique and patience needed to counter the South African bowling and hence gave an opportunity for trolls to get under his skin.

I am flummoxed by Kohli logic. Rohit Sharma had performed in India , so must be persisted with, though we know his technical problems on away pitches. Bhuvneshwar performed with ball and bat in Cape Town, but cannot be included because of technical reasons.

Rohit sharma is like the spoilt kid who beats his little siblings at home but gets kicked in the ass at school. #INDvSA

Increasingly convinced that all the centuries Rohit Sharma scored against Sri Lanka was a lankan conspiracy to get him on to the bus to South Africa.... time to invade Sri Lanka for this treachery.

Rohit sharma's true talent is how consistently he displays the lack of it in Test matches not against Sri Lanka.

If this review is lost, Rohit Sharma should be on the next flight to Mumbai.
