Tanush Kotian, Harsh Dubey, and Vipraj Nigam are all set to travel to Sri Lanka as net bowlers for India's upcoming Test series, Sportstar reported.

This tour will serve as a key developmental experience for these emerging spin-bowling all-rounders, though they are not expected to play unless an emergency arises.

Kotian has excelled with 131 wickets and over 2,100 runs in first-class cricket. The Mumbai off-spinner remains directly on the selectors' radar after previously joining the Test setup.

Dubey, the Vidarbha all-rounder, grabbed headlines by finishing near the top of the wickets chart in the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy while scoring crucial lower-order runs.

The youngest of the lot, Nigam captured attention during the IPL 2026 for Delhi Capitals (DC) and recently excelled during an India-A tour to Sri Lanka. His ability to contribute with both ball and bat makes him one of the more exciting prospects in the system.

This development strategy has proved highly successful for the BCCI, bridging the massive gap between domestic first-class cricket and the international arena. By integrating standout Ranji Trophy, Irani Cup, and India A performers into the senior squad's traveling bubble, the Indian board effectively accelerates player readiness.

India’s two-Test tour of Sri Lanka is extremely crucial for Shubman Gill’s men as they look to climb from fifth position in the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 standings.

The series will kick off in Galle from August 15, while the second Test will be played in Colombo starting August 23.
