SA v IND 2023-24: WATCH- “Yeh ek hi bowler hai”- Rohit Sharma’s cautious remark to Shubman Gill about Kagiso Rabada

South Africa made 55 runs in 1st innings after choosing to bat first in Cape Town Test.

India captain Rohit Sharma took the attack to South Africa bowlers in the first innings of the second and final Test in Cape Town.

Earlier, South Africa has won the toss and decided to bat first with Dean Elgar captaining the side in his final Test. However, the plan to put up a big total went wrong for the home side.

Mohammed Siraj ripped through South Africa's batting lineup with 6/15, his career-best Test figures. Only David Bedingham and Kyle Verreynne reached double figures as Jasprit Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar also took two wickets apiece as Proteas got bowled out for 55 runs.

India also lost an early wicket as Yashasvi Jaiswal was out bowled by Kagiso Rabada for a duck. But then Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill added 55 runs for the second wicket to take India past South Africa’s total.

The only bowler seemingly troubling the duo was Kagiso Rabada and Rohit Sharma was seen telling Shubman Gill to be patient while facing the premier South Africa pacer.

Rohit was heard on the stump mic telling Shubman Gill that Rabada was the only good bowler South Africa had and others were not so threatening.  

Rohit allegedly told Gill: “Yeh ek hi bowler hai (Rabada), aur koi bowler hai nahi (He is the only bowler, there is no other bowler.)”
