Dinesh Karthik smashed 29* in 8 balls
Dinesh Karthik's became the first batsman to win a T20I match with 5 or more runs required for a win and India lifted the Nidahas Tri-Series trophy by winning the final against Bangladesh by 4 wickets.
India needed 34 runs to win off the last 2 overs and with Vijay Shankar struggling at one end, all the pressure was straight on Dinesh Karthik but the experienced wicket-keeper delivered when it mattered the most.
Karthik remained not out on 29 off 8 balls, and his assault left Bangladesh in shock and tears at the end after a hard fought final. India had never lost in 7 T20I matches against Bangladesh, and the record is still safe thanks to one man in the end - Dinesh Karthik.
His innings was hailed by the Indian cricket fraternity, including some legendary names like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh.
Amazing victory by #TeamIndia. Superb batting by @DineshKarthik. A great knock by @ImRo45 to set the platform.
