Rohit Sharma is expected to play for India A against Australia A in ODI series.
India ODI captain Rohit Sharma is set to appear for fitness tests at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Center of Excellence (CoE) on September 13, reports have stated.
Alongside his close buddy and former India assistant coach Abhishek Nair, Rohit has been training at the BKC facility run by the Mumbai Cricket Association.
“Yes, Rohit will be at the BCCI's CoE from September 13 for fitness tests. He will be based here for two to three days and will also practice at the facility to fine-tune his preparations for the Australia white-ball tour in November. With the CoE also staging the Duleep Trophy final at its main ground (A) from September 11 to 15, Rohit will undergo fitness tests and train at a different ground at the same facility," a source told Times of India.
The BCCI has also introduced the Bronco test in addition to the yo-yo test to check the fitness of the Indian cricketers.
The reports have also hinted that Rohit and Virat Kohli would play for India A in a three-match One-Day series against Australia A on September 30, October 3, and October 5. The series will take place at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.
Rohit and Kohli will use the series to get ready for the three-match ODI series in Australia, which starts in Perth on October 19.
Rohit, 38, last played competitive cricket for the Mumbai Indians in June against the Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025. His last match for India was the 2025 Champions Trophy final against New Zealand on March 9, where he scored 76 from 83 balls and was named Player of the Match.
