Prithvi Shaw on Tuesday (December 17) vented out his frustration after being left out of Mumbai's Vijay Hazare Trophy squad. The 25-year-old was one of the notable snubs from Mumbai's team for the 50-over domestic tournament, alongside Ajinkya Rahane.

Mumbai announced their squad for the first three matches of the competition, which will be led by Shreyas Iyer.

Taking to Instagram, Shaw shared a story, where he expressed his disappointment and highlighted his impressive List-A career stats.

"Tell me God, what more do I have to see? If 65 innings, 3399 runs at an average of 55.7 with a strike rate of 126, I'm not good enough. But I will keep my faith in you and, hopefully, people still believe in me, because I will come back for sure. Om Sai Ram," Shaw wrote.

Prithvi Shaw was part of Mumbai's recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy-winning campaign but failed to live up to the expectations. The opening batter managed to score only 197 runs in 9 matches with the best score of 49.

Adding to his woes, Shaw went unsold during the IPL mega auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia last month. Not long ago, he was left out of Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy squad as well.

It is worth mentioning here that Prithvi Shaw announced his arrival to international cricket with a century on Test debut. However, the he failed to build on it and also went downhill fitness-wise.

As a result, the Mumbaikar fell behind in the packing order. The last time he played for the country was in July 2021.

Mumbai Squad for Vijay Hazare Trophy:

Shreyas Iyer (C), Ayush Mahtre, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Jay Bista, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, Suryansh Shedge, Siddhesh Lad, Hardik Tamore, Prasad Pawar, Atharva Ankolekar, Tanush Kotian, Shardul Thakur, Royston Dias, Juned Khan, Harsh Tanna, Vinayak Bhoir.
