The International Cricket Council will host an emergency board meeting on Tuesday, November 26 to make a final decision and end the standoff around the 2025 Champions Trophy, which will be held in Pakistan in February and March of next year.

The meeting, which will most likely result in a final decision on the tournament's fate, will take place virtually.

Among the attendees will undoubtedly be the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which has stated its inability to send Team India to Pakistan due to a lack of government authorization.

And also, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), who has has stated unequivocally that the entire tournament will be held in Pakistan, shutting out a hybrid concept in which India will play its matches in Dubai.

With time running out, the ICC must finalize many components of the tournament, including the schedule, format, and group-stage matchups, particularly the India-Pakistan encounter.

The latest bilateral series between India and Pakistan occurred in 2012-13 when Pakistan visited India for a white-ball series. Since then, the two teams have only squared off in ICC competitions and the Asia Cup.

Last year, Pakistan came to India for the 2023 ODI World Cup. However, they had to host the Asia Cup 2023 in a hybrid format, with Sri Lanka hosting all of India's matches in the tournament, including the summit encounter.
