The second round of Duleep Trophy 2024 begins from September 12 onwards.
The Indian team's pre-series preparatory camp before the two-match series against Bangladesh will begin in Chennai on September 12 and Sarfaraz will not be a part of that camp.
As per the ESPNCricinfo report, Sarfaraz will appear for India B in their second-round match against India C in the Duleep Trophy in Anantapur, which begins on September 12.
Sarfaraz played for India B XI, which defeated India A by 76 runs in the Duleep Trophy opening in Bengaluru. He scored 46 runs off 36 balls in the second innings, including seven fours and a six. He hopes to add a big score to his tally before India's home season begins with the Bangladesh Test series on September 19.
Making his India debut against England early this year, Sarfaraz Khan hit three half-centuries in his first two Tests. He replaced KL Rahul in the Indian squad who had suffered an injury.
However, it seems that India's management is unlikely to make many changes in the XI for the first Test match against Bangladesh. And with KL Rahul back in the mix, Sarfaraz Khan might not be considered in the final XI.
Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Akash Deep will be replaced by Pratham Singh, Akshay Wadkar, Shaik Rasheed, Shams Mulani, and Pulkit Narang in the India A squad.
Vidwath Kaverappa, a fast bowler, is expected to go from India A to India D. Meanwhile, India B will lose Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, and Yash Dayal, with Suyash Prabhudesai, Himanshu Mantri, and Rinku Singh taking their place.
India C is untouched, while India D will lose Akshar Patel and the injured Tushar Deshpande, while Kaverappa and Nishant Sindhu join their squad.
Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, and Prasidh Krishna are yet to be updated after missing the first round due to injuries.
