Pant captained the Purani Dilli 6 side in his debut DPL match.
India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant produced a major performance in his Delhi Premier League (DPL) debut on Saturday (August 17).
Playing for Purani Dilli 6, Pant, who captained the side, scored 35 runs off 32 deliveries against South Delhi Superstarz at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
While the knock was a lot different compared to his usually explosive batting style, it showed Pant’s evolving approach and adaptability. His innings, studded with four boundaries and a six, came at a strike rate of 109.
Ahead of the match, Rishabh Pant was felicitated by the DDCA President Rohan Jaitley and the BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla for his instrumental role in India's T20 World Cup 2024 triumph.
Rishabh Pant was part of the Indian team that recently toured Sri Lanka for a white-ball series. While the southpaw featured in all three T20Is against the hosts, he warmed the bench in the first two ODIs before getting a chance in the last 50-over match.
Pant registered scores of 49, 2* and 6 from the three innings he batted on the tour of Sri Lanka. He will be next seen in action in the first round of Duleep Trophy 2024-25, starting September 5.
