Rahmanullah Gurbaz says Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni his go-to men for advice to elevate his game

Rahmanullah Gurbaz also talked about the T20I series between India and Afghanistan.

Afghanistan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz revealed that he turns to legendary Indian cricketers MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli for guidance on improving as a player.

Speaking during the ILT20 2024 in the UAE, Gurbaz said that he consistently seeks advice from Dhoni and Kohli to elevate his game to the next level.

Gurbaz mentioned that, at this stage of his career, he has numerous questions and finds Kohli and Dhoni to be the best people to go to for advice which helps him make his game better. Gurbaz, who plays for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League, gets several opportunities to hang out with top Indian cricketers.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz told ANI in an interview: “I always talked to Virat and MS Dhoni about how to improve my cricket. I have a lot of things in my mind and I have to work on it. I was talking to Virat (bhai) about my cricket journey and how should I grow, and reach the next level.”

Gurbaz further said that the recent T20I series in India was a good experience for the Afghanistan team. Gurbaz scored 50 off 32 balls and helped Afghanistan match India's total of 212 runs.

He signed off by saying, “It was a good learning for us. This kind of game can happen. We also enjoyed the game and learned a lot from it. Playing against players like Virat and Rohit Sharma gave us a lot of confidence and learning. I hope we get a lot of series against India in future.”
