India T20I stand-in captain Suryakumar Yadav has further extended his lead at the top of ICC T20I batting rankings in the latest update posted on December 13, 2023.

Suryakumar Yadav, who is captaining the side in the three-match T20I series in South Africa, scored a half-century in the second match in Gqeberha on December 12. India lost the match by 5 wickets via the DLS method as South Africa took a lead of 1-0 as the first T20I in Durban was washed out.

Suryakumar smashed 56 from just 36 deliveries as India fell short in the exciting clash in Gqeberha and the attacking right-hander gained a total of 10 rating points as a result to further increase his lead as the No.1 ranked batter in the shortest format of the game.

The India skipper now has a total of 865 rating points, which is well clear of his nearest rivals in Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan (787 rating points) and South Africa's Aiden Markram (758).
