Gavaskar had said that Sachin, Sehwag, Dravid always sought his help, but current gen stars don't.
Kapil Dev, India’s 1983 World Cup winning captain, echoed his once teammate Sunil Gavaskar’s words that the current lot of Team India stars are not willing to take help from yesteryear’s cricketers due to the possibility of their ego stopping them from doing so.
Gavaskar had revealed how the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, and VVS Laxman, some of the greatest batters India has produced, came to him for advice regularly, while the younger generation isn’t so interested in taking a few tips and learning from his experience.
He further said that he has noted some technical deficiencies in the top order batters, but found it odd that neither the seniors nor the younger players have sought out his aid in any way.
Kapil Dev added to the same sentiment and said that there is always room for improvement.

"Differences come out, the good (thing) about these players...is that they are very confident. The negative point is they think they know everything. I don't know how to put it better than that. But they are confident, but they think 'you don't have to ask anybody'. What we believe is an experienced person can help you," Kapil Dev said on The Week.
He added that the riches, arrogance, and ego might be stopping the cricketers from taking advice from others and said that taking help from someone like Gavaskar wouldn’t hurt them.
"Sometimes too much money comes, arrogance comes. These cricketers think they know everything. That's the difference. I would say some so many cricketers need help. When Sunil Gavaskar is there, why can't you talk? Where is the ego? There is no ego as such. They feel 'we are good enough'. Maybe they are good enough, but extra help from somebody who has seen 50 seasons of cricket, he knows things. Listening sometimes can change your thought," Kapil added.
