WI v IND 2023: WATCH- Virat Kohli wears a bracelet gifted by a young fan after 2nd ODI

India lost the second ODI to West Indies by 6 wickets.

Ace India batter Virat Kohli was rested, along with captain Rohit Sharma, for the second ODI which was played in Barbados on July 29, 2023, which saw the Indian team losing the match by 6 wickets.

India was put into bat by Shai Hope and despite a 90-run opening partnership between Ishan Kishan (55) and Shubman Gill (34), the visitors only managed 181 runs as the remainder of the batters got out for 91 runs with Suryakumar Yadav making 24 runs.

For West Indies, Gudakesh Motie and Romario Shepherd took 3 wickets each.

In reply, Shardul Thakur picked 3 wickets stopping a dangerous Kyle Mayers (36) in his tracks. But Shai Hope steered his team to victory with 63* and Keacy Carty made 48* as West Indies won the match by 6 wickets.

Meanwhile, on the sidelines of the second match, Virat Kohli was seen interacting with fans and taking selfies. However, a special moment occurred when he was gifted a bracelet by a young fan and Kohli smilingly wore the same while interacting with her.

In a video posted by the BCCI, Kohli can the girl can be heard saying, “I have made a gift for you.” Kohli replied, “Oh really!”

Virat Kohli’s gesture made the girl’s father emotional.

He said: “It’s a family reunion. We love cricket. We are a family full of cricket lovers. This is the best time to be over here. It was kind of him to come over here because my daughter did make him a bracelet and he was nice… you know it brings tears to my eyes that he was so down to earth coming over here wearing the bracelet in front of us and taking pictures.”

The girl also looked over the moon after giving the bracelet to Kohli. She said: “I was screaming Kohli. He came over and I gave him my bracelet that I made with my hands.”

The final ODI of the three-match series is on Tuesday at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad. The teams are also scheduled to play five T20 matches, starting Friday.
