Sapna Gill, the lady who was accused of attacking India batter Prithvi Shaw's car, has been arrested by Oshiwada Police on Thursday (February 16).

The brawl took place late night on Wednesday (February 15) after Sapna and her friends approached Shaw for selfies when the cricketer was having dinner with his friend in a hotel in Mumbai.

As per the police report, Shaw initially obliged with selfies, but then refused when Sapna approached with more requests, by saying that he had come to eat food with his friends and that he did not want to be disturbed. His friend then had to call the hotel manager to intervene and he removed Sapna and her friends from the premises.

The Oshiwara police had booked eight people on Wednesday for attacking Prithvi Shaw's friend's car outside the hotel.

"Oshiwara Police has registered a case against 8 persons over an alleged attack on the car of a friend of Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw after Shaw refused to take a selfie for the second time with two people," Mumbai Police was quoted as saying by ANI.

As per the complaint given by Shaw's friend Ashish Surendra Yadav, first the car carrying the cricketer was attacked with baseball bats, and then the accused followed the car and threatened of false cases if money was not given.

Notably, Sapna Gill had alleged that Prithvi Shaw and his friends physically abused her outside the hotel. She further claimed that Shaw was carrying a stick in hand when he and his friends assaulted the woman.

Sapna Gill's lawyer, Ali Kashif Khan said the police were not allowing her to go for medical tests and was at the Oshiwara police station in Mumbai.

"Sapna was assaulted by Prithvi. A stick was seen in Prithvi's hand. Prithvi's friends assaulted the group first. Sapna is currently at Oshiwara police station. The police are not allowing her to go for medical," Ali Kashif said.

Sapna Gill will be produced in court on Friday (February 17) while more arrests are likely to be made in the case. As of now, no FIR has been lodged from the accused side.
