After Shaun Tait's tenure as Pakistan cricket team bowling coach came to an end, there are a lot of speculations that the legendary pacer Waqar Younis would be rejoining the national team as their bowling coach.

However, Younis cleared the air by saying that he has "no intentions" of taking the bowling coach position. The former Pakistan coach also revealed that he wasn’t approached by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the said opening.

Notably, PCB will have to look for a new bowling coach after the Australian pacer Tait left the job following the Men in Green’s 2-1 ODI series loss to New Zealand in Pakistan.

Well, Younis Khan, who was one of Pakistan’s most lethal bowlers during his playing days, is not interested in the job, and he confirmed the same on Twitter on Tuesday (January 17).

Waqar Younis wrote on Twitter: “Lots of speculation around me taking on the bowling coach roll of Pakistan???????? team. Let me be very clear I have not approached and I have no intentions of taking taking that job #ThankYou.”

Notably, Waqar joined the Pakistan team as their bowling coach in 2019 and worked until 2021 before stepping down from the role before the T20 World Cup in 2021. He was also Pakistan's head coach twice before, between 2010 and 2011, and again between 2014 and 2016.
