The Indian team will tour Bangladesh in December for three ODIs and two Tests.
The Indian team will visit Bangladesh in December this year for three ODIs and two Tests, following the white-ball tour of New Zealand.
While the likes of regular skipper Rohit Sharma, his deputy KL Rahul and senior batter Virat Kohli won’t feature in the six white-ball games against New Zealand, they have been picked in the ODI squad against Bangladesh.
For the ODI series, Shubman Gill has been axed from the squad, which features Shikhar Dhawan, Rajat Patidar, Shreyas Iyer, Rahul Tripathi, Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan as batters.
Ravindra Jadeja is set to make his comeback into the national team after recovering from knee surgery as he has been named in the ODI squad alongside spin all-rounders such as Akshar Patel and Washington Sundar.
Shardul Thakur, Mohammad Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Deepak Chahar, and Yash Dayal are India’s pace-bowling options for the ODI series.
On the other hand, the Test squad includes Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul as captain and vice-captains while Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, and Shreyas Iyer are part of the team as premier batters.
Rishabh Pant is the designated wicketkeeper in the Test side with KS Bharat being his backup option.
The spin-bowling options include Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Akshar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav while Mohammad Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav and Shardul Thakur will form the pace attack.
While the three-match ODI series will be played in Dhaka from December 4 to December 10, Chattogram and Dhaka will host the first (December 14-18) and second (December 22-26) Test respectively.
