Indian skipper Rohit Sharma on Friday (19th August) talked about his captaincy mantra. He said that confusion among players and their roles is the last thing he would want under his leadership.

Ever since Rohit has become an all-format skipper, Team India have looked like a completely different side. The right-hander is yet to lose a series as a skipper and has impressed many with his leadership skills.

While he has insisted his team follows a template of going after the bowlers right from the start, his bowling changes have also been spot on.

Rohit, who has won five IPL titles as a skipper for Mumbai Indians, has etched his name in record books even at the international level in his short captaincy tenure so far.

Speaking in a video posted on Star Sports’ Twitter account, Rohit Sharma said that he has kept things simple as a leader and he ensures that his teammates are clear about their roles.

“What I have done over the years with the Mumbai Indians franchise and also the time that I have led India, it's just keeping it very-very simple and not complicating things too much. Making sure that... Whatever I have spoken of before about giving the guys that freedom.

“Making them understand what their role is. That is what I will be expecting of myself, that's what I want to do for the team, for the players to make sure there is no confusion," Rohit Sharma said.

Rohit said that he as a skipper wants to make sure that everything is under control and there’s no room for confusion. He added that he along with coach Rahul Dravid will make sure that there’s clarity in the team.

“That (confusion) is the last thing you want, especially when you are playing a high-profile tournament. We want to make sure all of that is taken care of and that's where my role becomes very, very crucial along with Rahul (Dravid) bhai. We will try and keep our focus on that. But for me, It's very simple. I try and keep things literally very, very simple,” he said.

Rohit Sharma is currently enjoying his time away from cricket. His next assignment will be the Asia Cup 2020, which will kick-start on August 27. The Mumbaikar also has set his eye on the T20 World Cup 2022, which will be played later this year in Australia.
