Prithvi Shaw last played for India during the white-ball tour to Sri Lanka in 2021.
With star players being rested, there was an opportunity for many youngsters including Rahul Tripathi. However, Prithvi Shaw's name didn’t feature in the list which also included the likes of Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Deepak Hooda, among others.
Shaw, 22, last played for India during the white-ball tour to Sri Lanka in 2021. The right-hander had a decent IPL 2022 for Delhi Capitals, scoring 283 runs at an impressive strike rate of 152.97 before he missed the last few games due to Typhoid. However, he was not considered for the subsequent five-match T20I series at home against South Africa even though a lot of youngsters got an opportunity in the absence of senior players.
While cricket pundits were expecting him to be included in the squad for the Zimbabwe tour, Shaw was once over again overlooked by the selectors.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai batter, who went for a vacation in the Maldives last month, has returned to India. On Monday (August 1), he resumed his training in order to get back in shape ahead of the upcoming domestic season.
Taking to Instagram, Prithvi Shaw shared a story featuring a short clip from his gym session with the caption: "Let’s get back to work."
