After being thumped in the first Test by 10 wickets, Sri Lanka staged a staggering comeback and defeated the Pat Cummins-led side by an innings and 39 runs.

They displayed a sensational performance with both bat and ball to end the series at 1-1. One of the main architects behind their big win in the second Test was Dinesh Chandimal.

The keeper-batter created history as he surpassed Kumar Sangakkara's (192) record of highest individual score against Australia in Tests. Chandimal scored unbeaten 205 runs and helped his side take a lead of 190 runs in the first innings.

Chandimal’s innings was laced with 16 fours and 5 sixes. He reached his double hundred in style as batting on 185, with tailenders, he hit Mitchell Starc for a four and followed it up with a couple of sixes on successive balls to reach the milestone.

One of the six he smashed went out of the stadium and landed on the street. If this was not enough, it also hit a person walking across the streets in Galle.
