Rishabh Pant is currently captaining Delhi Capitals (DC) in the IPL 2022.
Virender Sehwag has given some really surprising advice to the Indian team management over Rishabh Pant's batting position in white-ball cricket.
We all know that the young wicketkeeper-batter has improved a lot with the gloves and he is already a natural attacking batter, which makes him a first-choice keeper for India across the formats.
Well, Sehwag believes that Pant can be a bigger asset for Team India in limited-overs cricket if he opens the batting for the team. He feels the left-hander as an opener would be far more successful. Notably, Pant has so far scored 715 runs in 24 ODIs and 683 runs in 43 T20Is for India.

Sehwag said on Sports18's show Home of Heroes: “We don't play limited-overs to score 50 or 100 but to score at a brisk pace, no matter the situation or the opposition.”
The former aggressive opener added, “At no. 4 or 5, he will find himself in situations that demand greater responsibility, but if he opens, he will be far more successful.”
Notably, Sehwag himself started his journey as a middle-order batter, but once he was promoted to open the innings, he was just unstoppable. A similar thing happened with Sachin Tendulkar.
