Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja had come up with an idea for a four-nation T20I Super Series last month.

Ramiz had tweeted that he would be making a proposal to the International Cricket Council (ICC) about the tournament, involving India, Pakistan, England, and Australia.

According to a latest PTI report, the PCB chief is all set to table a proposal for a four-nation tournament at the upcoming ICC Board Meeting on April 10 but the BCCI is unlikely to entertain the idea.

The current ICC rule states that a member board can host a tri-nation tournament at the most as only the apex body has the right to conduct an event involving more than three countries.

Earlier, Ramiz had said that the tournament will be hosted by the four nations on a rotation basis. As per his proposal, the profits will be divided among all the ICC members on a percentage basis.

However, it has been learnt that the BCCI is unlikely to be on the same page.

"Our Futures Tours & Programme (FTP) is packed. Also the fact that there are a lot of factors and as of now, there is no change in policy of playing them at ICC events. Also, we don't think ICC will be ready to organize a four-nation and Raja's proposal will be turned down," a senior BCCI official quoted as saying by PTI.

Recently, BCCI secretary Jay Shah had played down the chances of a quadrangular series, saying the interests of the chief of cricket bodies across the globe should be on expanding the game of cricket rather than focusing on "short-term commercial initiatives".

"The calendar is choc-a-bloc and also we need to keep players' physical and mental health in mind with so much of cricket being played,'' the official added.

According to a proposal prepared by Ramiz, "the quadrangular series will be played on a single-league basis around September/October, which is a low cricket period due to the eve of cricket seasons in Australia, India and Pakistan, and the tail-end of the cricket season in England.

"The proposal suggests a potential revenue of $750 million, which the PCB boss wants to be distributed amongst the participating nations and other ICC members through a distribution model," a PCB source told PTI.

The PCB sources further said that Ramiz Raja’s idea won’t harm the global events organized by ICC.

"It is not an attempt to undermine the ICC Events or the ICC Events Cycle. The ICC tried the Super Series in 2005, so there is no harm in testing waters for another event," the source said.
