Ireland's home summer will kick-start on 26th June with T20I series against India.
Ireland is all set to host India, New Zealand, South Africa and Afghanistan this year. In what will be their largest-ever home summer, the hosts will play 15 white-ball games.
Ireland’s home summer will begin with two-match T20I series against India that will be played on June 26th and 28th at Malahide. After that, the Andrew Balbirine-led side will lock horns against New Zealand in three ODIs and three T20Is from 10th July to 22nd July. The ODI series will also be part of the ICC ODI Super League.
Ireland is also slated to play South Africa in two-match T20I series. But Cricket Ireland will be hosting two matches in Bristol during the Proteas’ tour of England. After that, they will play five T20Is against Afghanistan, the schedule of which will be announced soon.
Talking about the home summer, Chief Executive of Cricket Ireland Warren Deutrom said that they are delighted to host India and New Zealand for the white-ball games.
He highlighted that the T20I series against South Africa and Afghanistan will help them prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022.
"We are delighted to welcome back India Men's team for the first time since 2018, as well as the number one-ranked ODI side - the Black Caps, who were last here in 2017. Just as important, given we will shortly be heading to a T20 WC, are the two T20I series against South Africa and Afghanistan. Our thanks goes to Gloucestershire Cricket Club for agreeing to host the South African series,” Warren Deutrom said.
Ireland was earlier scheduled to tour Zimbabwe and host Bangladesh this year, but they have now postponed both the series to next year.
Warren Deutrom talked about the same and also revealed that they will announce ‘exciting’ fixtures for the women’s team as well.

"We decided to postpone both this year's planned tour to Zimbabwe in April and the home Bangladesh series into 2023. Even with these changes, we're still hosting a record amount of men's cricket against some of the world's top teams this year - with more exciting announcements to come around our women's fixtures,” Warren Deutrom said.
