Virat Kohli led Team India in 68 Test matches winning 40 of them.
Virat Kohli had taken social media by the storm after he announced his resignation from Test captaincy on January 15. New Zealand spinner, Ajaz Patel lauded Kohli's leadership, but while doing so, he had a different take than others.
Virat explained his decision through a social media post. Kohli took over the Test captaincy from MS Dhoni during the 2014-15 Australia tour. Under Kohli’s tenure, Team India achieved the no. 1 Test spot in the World rankings, secured 40 wins in 68 games with a win percentage of 58.82 – most by an Indian captain.
Kohli stepped down as the Indian Test team captain on January 15th post their red-ball series loss to South Africa. The BCCI hasn’t yet revealed the new Indian Test team captain.

Taking to Twitter, the spinner compared Kohli to former New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum and hailed the former Indian skipper for changing Indian cricket, the way Mccullum did for the New Zealanders.
"Congrats to @imVkohli on your tenure as @BCCI captain, the legacy and direction you leave behind has forever changed Indian cricket. Much like we saw @BLACKCAPS by @Bazmccullum", wrote Patel.
Virat also stepped down as the T20I captain after the T20 World Cup last year. He was also removed as the ODI captain by BCCI. Rohit Sharma was named the new white-ball captain by BCCI in December.
