India and New Zealand are no.1 and 2 ranked teams in ICC Test Rankings respectively.
As both finalists India and New Zealand are ranked 1 and 2 in the ICC Test Rankings, there is no doubt that the players showed exceptional skills and consistency to remain at the top.
Former Pakistan batsman in his recent YouTube video answered the question of what makes these two teams to successful.
“Their basic application towards the game is very strong. The game awareness of their players across all the formats is extremely strong, they are very alert to the situation. They also pay a lot of attention to detail, they know exactly what to do when,” the 36-year-old said.
“You can see common sense in their planning and strategy. In Test cricket, when there is a need to dig in, they also score 20 runs in 100 balls. When there is a need to score quickly, they are scoring quickly,” he added.
The southpaw then talked about how one must credit India and New Zealand’s domestic circuit for their international success.
“In reality, such understanding and command of the game don't come easy. It comes when you spend years playing first-class cricket and that is where you learn the skill. It comes after playing four-day cricket, something we are tired of propagating and hoping somebody understands the point,” Butt signed off.
The Indian team is currently in quarantine at the Hilton Hotel after landing in London on June 3 and will start training once the quarantine is over. The final slated to begin on June 18, will be played in front of 4000 spectators.
