Former England skipper Michael Vaughan recently grabbed headlines for his remark while comparing Virat Kohli’s and Kane Williamson.

In an interview with Spark Sport, Vaughan had said that the New Zealand captain is on par with his Indian counterpart as the world's top batsman and he would have been called 'greatest player in the world if he was an Indian'.

"If Kane Williamson was Indian, he would be the greatest player in the world. But he's not because you're not allowed to say that Virat Kohli is not the greatest, because you’d get an absolute pelting on social media. So, you all say Virat is the best purely to get few more clicks and likes, few more numbers following here. Kane Williamson, across formats, is equally the best. I think the way he plays, the calm demeanour, his humbleness, the fact that he is silent about what he does," Vaughan had said.

Two weeks later, Vaughan has shared his views on the comparison between New Zealand pacer Trent Boult and India quick Jasprit Bumrah.

This time, however, the ex-England captain decided to play safe, hailing both the fast bowlers for their incredible achievements in modern-day cricket.

"Bumrah or Boult... I can't decide. I'm going to sit on the fence probably for the first time in my life. I would say Boult because he's been doing it for longer, but Bumrah is incredible and a brilliant skilled-bowler, bowled so well in England a couple of years ago. So I think it's very, very close," Vaughan told Spark Sport.

Bumrah and Boult will be seen in action for their respective teams in the World Test Championship (WTC) final in Southampton next month.

While Bumrah has 83 wickets to his name from 19 Tests, Boult has claimed 281 scalps in 71 Test matches.
