Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has recently named his India's probable playing XI for the upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka. Team India will play three ODIs and T20Is each on Sri Lanka tour in July this year.
Speaking on ESPNCricinfo, Manjrekar picked Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan for the opening spot. Both the batsmen were in good touch during the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) for Delhi Capitals (DC).

Manjrekar named Surykumar Yadav for the number three spot along with another Mumbai Indians (MI) batsman, Ishan Kishan at four. He said Kishan would be his wicket-keeper instead of Sanju Samson.
A surprise inclusion from Manjrekar was Manish Pandey at the number five batting position. He isn't among the top contenders in Team India currently and even his form in IPL 2021 was under the scanner, but the ex-India cricketer is still going ahead with him.
Manjrekar picked Hardik Pandya and Rahul Tewatia as the two all-rounders and he would want the former to be contributive with the ball as well. The fast bowling attack includes youngster Chetan Sakariya over T Natarajan. He also added Bhuvneshwar Kumar as the bowling spearhead with Deepak Chahar.
The spin department of Manjrekar's XI has only Rahul Chahar and Yuzvendra Chahal found no place. Rahul is among the most promising spinners in IPL.
