West Indies Test squad for the two-Test series against Sri Lanka has been announced and the home side will yet again have the services of Jason Holder and Darren Bravo.

Both the cricketers did not travel to Bangladesh for a similar two-Test series citing health concerns in the time of COVID-19 pandemic. While Holder is back into the Test side, he has now lost his captaincy to opener Kraigg Brathwaite.

Brathwaite has led West Indies in 7 Tests so far and has won 2 out of them, losing the other 5. Holder will be giving his inputs to the new full-time skipper but will not have the responsibility on his shoulders.

WI v SL 2021: Kraigg Brathwaite appointed as new full-time West Indies Test captain

Sri Lanka are coming off two Test series losses against South Africa and England and seem to be a demotivated lot at the moment. They last won a Test match in January 2020, against Zimbabwe.

The West Indian team would like to continue their winning streak against Asian sides by beating a weakened Sri Lankan side at home.

The first Test will be played from March 21 and the second will commence on March 29. Both the matches will be played at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.

West Indies squad for 2 Tests against Sri Lanka: Kraigg Brathwaite (C), Jermaine Blackwood (vice-captain), Nkrumah Bonner, Darren Bravo, John Campbell, Rahkeem Cornwall, Joshua Da Silva, Shannon Gabriel, Jason Holder, Alzarri Joseph, Kyle Mayers, Kemar Roach, Jomel Warrican.
