Virat Kohli now has most number of ducks for an Indian captain in international cricket.
India skipper Virat Kohli got out on a duck in the first T20I against England on Friday (March 12). It was his 28th duck in international cricket and 14th as India's captain. He surpassed ex-captain Sourav Ganguly (13 ducks) to have the most number of ducks for an Indian skipper.
Kohli is making fans wait too long for his 71st hundred. He had failed to get a ton in the recently concluded Test series against England as well. It has been 37 innings since he has scored a hundred for India. His last century came against Bangladesh in India on 23rd Nov 2019.
In the first T20I match which India lost by 8 wickets, Kohli got out to spinner Adil Rashid as he tried to smash him over mid-off but ended up getting caught by Chris Jordan.
Twitterati were not pleased with the consecutive failures of Kohli. He was dismissed on zero in the fourth Test against England too. Someone who has a reputation of a 'run-machine' getting out on two consecutive ducks didn't go well on social media.
