Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane keen to get back to action as international cricket resumes

They also wished England and West Indies good luck for Test series.

Indian cricket team and Mumbai state teammates Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane were delighted at the resumption of international cricket on Wednesday (July 8) in England after a more than three-month break on the whole sporting action due to the global Coronavirus pandemic.

As the international cricket has finally returned to action with England taking on the West Indies in the first Test of the three-match Test series at bio-secure Southampton, Rohit and Rahane are also keen to get back on the field and resume cricket all over again following the COVID-19 forced hiatus.

Taking to their official social media handles, the star cricketers have expressed their desire to return in action after the England-West Indies Test series got underway at the Ages Bowl. The duo also wished luck to both England and Windies team for their Test challenge.

Rahane, India’s Test vice-captain, wrote on Twitter: “So nice to see that cricket is back! Good luck to both the teams! Can't wait to get back on the field again #ENGvWI,”

Meanwhile, Rohit, India’s white-ball vice-captain, tweeted: “Cricket is back Positive scenes coming out from UK. So good to finally see some cricket being played. Wishing both teams the best. Can't wait to be out there myself #EngVsWI.”

Noteworthy, the Indian cricket team is yet to resume training due to the Coronavirus outbreak in the country, but several players have started individual outdoor training at their local facilities.
