Mark Calaway announced his retirement from WWE ring after 30 years of performance.
The WWE has been very keen on making inroads in India, seeing it as a potential market to develop professional wrestling and hence has even involved themselves by sending a customized WWE title belt to Mumbai Indians for winning the IPL 2019.
The Undertaker debuted for the then World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in 1990’s Survivor Series event. He has an enviable record at WWE’s marquee even Wrestlemania going 25-2 and has held the highest honor of the WWE championship multiple times. He is considered to be one of the pillars and locker-room leaders in the company, staying with them when during the period of 1994-1998 many wrestlers jumped ship to the more lucrative competitor WCW (World Championship Wrestling).
Now at the age of 55, Mark Calaway made his intentions clear of having no intention of returning back into the ring. This led to the Mumbai Indians paying rich tribute to the ‘dead man’ by tweeting photos of the customized WWE title belt and also a photo of MI captain Rohit Sharma holding it.
“30 legendary years. #ThankYouTaker #OneFamily @WWE @undertaker @ImRo45,” MI tweeted.
