Rohit is hopeful of both the tournaments taking place by the end of 2020.
India's vice-captain Rohit Sharma wants to play both, IPL and T20 World Cup tournaments this year, although there is a high possibility of only one taking place by the end of 2020.
IPL's scheduled date was pushed because of the COVID-19 pandemic and there is doubt on T20 World Cup as ICC will take the call in association with the host nation Australia's government.

In an Instagram chat session with fans, Rohit said he would preferably play both the tournaments if possible.
Further in the chat, he revealed playing Day and Night Test will be challenging for them when they tour Australia later this year. India is scheduled to play the pink-ball Test at the Adelaide Oval, which is the second Test of the four-match series.
The series will start with the first Test on December 3 at the Gabba in Brisbane.
Rohit was also asked to tag MS Dhoni, India's veteran wicket-keeper with one word he thinks suits him. To which, the India opener replied, "Legend".
