Sushant Singh Rajput, 34, committed suicide in his Bandra apartment.
Apparently, he was under severe depression from the last few months and his former manager Disha Salian had also passed away a few days ago after falling from the roof of her multistoried building.
Rajput, who became a household name with his hit television series "Pavitra Rishta", debuted in films with the critically acclaimed "Kai Po Che!" based on Chetan Bhagat's bestselling book "The Three Mistakes of My Life".

He went on to portray former India captain, MS Dhoni, in his biopic "M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story" in 2016, a movie that became a blockbuster, earning Rajput many Best Actor nominations. His last big-screen movie was Chichhore, which earned more than 100 crore rupees at the box office and his final appearance came on Netflix movie Drive, alongside Jacqueline Fernandez.
Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli was shocked to hear about the tragic passing of a talented actor and tweeted,” Shocked to hear about Sushant Singh Rajput. This is so difficult to process. May his soul RIP and may god give all the strength to his family and friends”
The actor was accompanied by a few friends at the time of death. When in the morning he did not open the door, the friends broke the door and found him hanging by the fan. His domestic help called the police in.
Police found no suicide note in the house. He is survived by his father and four elder sisters.
Rohit Sharma, India’s white-ball vice-captain, was also shocked at the untimely demise of Rajput and paid tributes by tweeting,” This is distressing, can’t come to terms that this has happened. Really disturbing. Brilliant actor RIP in brother.”
