Yuvraj Singh retired on June 10, 2019.
India’s 2011 World Cup hero Yuvraj Singh had called time on his brilliant international career on June 10, 2019, and is celebrating the first anniversary of the same moment. He played 304 ODIs, 40 Tests, and 58 T20I matches for India from 2000-2017.
He also played with much success in the Indian Premier League, captaining the Kings XI Punjab team in the first-ever edition of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Yuvraj made quite an impact on everyone, when he made his debut for India in 2000 as a teenager with a scintillating 84 in his first innings with the bat against Australia in the ICC Knockout Trophy 2000 in Nairobi, Kenya. The innings was full of promise and ability against the likes of Glenn McGrath, Brett Lee and Jason Gillespie.

That innings established him as one of the best young talents in that era and he ruled the cricketing world till 2011, becoming the Man of the Tournament as India won their second World Cup title. However, he was shortly diagnosed with lung cancer and spent the next year battling the disease and winning in the end.
He made a good return to the team but had fitness and form issues throughout his second stint, where he was in and out of the team. He last played for India in 2017 against West Indies.
He played quite a lot of cricket with Sachin Tendulkar throughout the nineties and the great man paid rich tributes to Yuvraj on his first retirement anniversary.
