Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s story of the battle with cancer is known worldwide, given that his life was turned upside down just after he helped India win the 2011 World Cup at home and was the player of the tournament.

He battled the lung cancer hard for a year, beat it, and recovered well enough to make a good comeback and play for India again with the same vigor and skills. He continued until 2017 and called time on his career in 2019. In 2018, on his 37th birthday, the stylish southpaw took a pledge to support the treatment of 25 children suffering from cancer.

Yuvraj Singh feels grateful as VVS Laxman paid tribute to him on Cancer Survivors Day

He has always been upfront about his story of battling cancer and on Cancer Survivors Day in 2020, which is an annual celebration of life on the first Sunday of June, pledged to help the cancer survivors through his charitable foundation, the YouWeCan, which is a non-profit organization that aims at spreading awareness about cancer and empowering survivors.

"Being a survivor, I know the pain & agony of fighting cancer," he added. "On #CancerSurvivorsDay I once again pledge to take care of those who are battling cancer," he further wrote on Instagram.
