Kevin Pietersen and Virat Kohli both played for RCB.
Kevin Pietersen and Virat Kohli had a productive conversation on Instagram Live from 7 pm until it all came to an end thanks to Kohli’s wife and Bollywood Diva Anushka Sharma. The conversation between the two batting geniuses hovered around the current Coronavirus pandemic, Kohli’s sharing his lowest point in the cricketing career and of course, MS Dhoni.
"We have to be positive and cautious in these times," says Virat Kohli amidst nationwide lockdown
He also revealed that he got his nickname ‘Chiku’ from a Ranji Trophy coach of his. It is based on a rabbit character from children’s book Champak and a play on his chubby cheeks during his teens. He also revealed that MS Dhoni made the name famous by shouting it out on stump mic during a match.
Both Pietersen and Kohli have played together at the Royal Challenger Bangalore (RCB) team and even led the franchise at different times. Talking about why RCB has never won the IPL, Kohli said, "I think the more you try to do something, it tends to move away from you. I think we need to get the joy back into the team and not try and look to set goals.”
The conversation was going great guns until Anushka Sharma played spoilsport and commented “Chalo, Chalo Dinner Time,” on Instagram, in between the ongoing Live session, leading to both men laughing out and bringing the session to an end.
