Mohammad Hafeez has ruled it not right to compare exceptional batsmen, Virat Kohli and Babar Azam.

International cricket has been bedazzled by the so-called ‘Fab Four' that includes Indian skipper Virat Kohli, England limited-overs captain Joe Root, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson and Australia's Steve Smith.

Pakistan limited-overs captain Babar Azam has performed exceptionally well over the last few years and many think that he has earned the right to be part of that elite list.

T20WC 2020: Mohammad Hafeez announces that he'll retire after ICC T20 World Cup

His Pakistan teammate Mohammad Hafeez said, “I think it’s not right to compare these two [Babar Azam and Virat Kohli]. Kohli is a brilliant cricketer and he has performed all over the world but Babar is also playing exceptionally well. Both have two different sides and there is no comparison between them.

Hafeez himself has not safeguarded his position in the national side. He was dropped from the Pakistan team after the World Cup in 2019. However, he got a call-up into the T20 side as the Men In Green performed poorly in the format.

Pakistan had to recall him and another veteran Shoaib Malik into the side ahead of the ICC World T20 2020. According to the 39-year-old, he will be retiring from international cricket after the aforementioned tournament but would like to continue playing T20 leagues around the world.

He said, “I’m planning to retire respectfully after playing the T20 World Cup later this year. I will continue playing T20 leagues around the world as long as I’m fit and performing with the bat.
