RCB captain Virat Kohli turns 31 today.
His IPL franchise RCB has been his home in the T20 league since his debut in 2008 when he was picked from a draft of U19 players. Since then he has been their main player and took over the captaincy from Daniel Vettori in 2013. He led the team to finals in IPL 2016 edition, where he scored 973 runs as well and scoring 4 centuries, both records in the league so far.

He and AB de Villiers share a special bonding given that they have added 200 plus runs in partnerships twice in the IPL and even outside cricket, both the players share mutual respect towards one another and this showed when RCB’s official Twitter account shared a birthday message from De Villiers for Kohli.
“Birthday wishes from friends are the real icing on the cake. Happy Birthday @imVkohli Here are some wishes for you from the RCB family. #PlayBold #HappyBirthdayVirat,” tweeted RCB.
Apart from RCB and AB de Villiers, BCCI and ICC also wished the Indian captain on Twitter. BCCI tweeted, “As #TeamIndia Captain @imVkohli turns 31, we take a look back at his maiden ODI hundred and where it all started for the Run Machine. #HappyBirthdayVirat ????????.”
Meanwhile the ICC tweeted,” ❇️ Fastest to 20,000 international runs ❇️ Most double hundreds as Test captain ❇️ First to clean sweep ICC awards Happy Birthday to player extraordinaire, @imVkohli”
